1. Right to information


The Privacy Policy of the International Centre for Ageing Research, a Foundation of the Valencian Autonomous Community, hereinafter ICAR, refers to the need to regulate access to and use of the services, training opportunities, events and employment offered by the Centre either through the website or through hard-copy requests.

2. Who is responsible for processing your personal data?


Under the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of personal data of natural persons (GDPR), you are hereby informed that the personal information you provide will be duly registered and incorporated into the data processing systems under the responsibility of ICAR (C/SEVERO OCHOA, NUM. 30 ELX PARC EMPRESARIAL -03203 ELCHE/ELX – (ALICANTE)).

3. Purpose


The data provided are used by ICAR to effectively render the procured/agreed services, which will depend on the reason why you have provided them to us.

4. Security measures


Taking into consideration the state of the art, the costs of implementation, and the nature, scope, context and purpose described in point 3 of these terms and conditions of privacy, as well as the risks of varying likelihood and severity to the rights and freedoms of users, ICAR, in compliance with the provisions of 32.1 of the GDPR, has implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure an adequate level of security, which in its case includes, among others: measures to ensure the ongoing confidentiality, integrity, availability and resilience of processing systems and services, measures to restore availability and access to personal data promptly in the event of a physical or technical incident and the implementation of a process of periodic verification, evaluation and assessment of the effectiveness of technical and organisational measures to ensure the security of the processing.

5. What is the legal basis for processing the personal data?


The legal basis for the processing of your personal data consists of handling the request that you have sent to ICAR, your consent to participate in the activities, projects, training and events organised by ICAR, your consent to participate in the projects or studies promoted or in which ICAR collaborates, your contractual relationship with ICAR itself, and situations in which the legitimisation for the processing of your personal data by ICAR is provided for by law.

However, as will be indicated below, you may exercise your right to object to the processing described above by following the instructions provided by ICAR for this purpose.

6. With whom will we share your data?


ICAR does not intend to disclose or transfer to third parties any personal information held on its systems.

7. What are your rights when you provide us with your data?


You have the right to access your personal data, and to request the rectification of inaccurate data or, where applicable, to request deletion when, among other reasons, the data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected. You may request the limitation of the processing of your data, in which case, ICAR will only retain them for the exercise or defence of claims. Similarly, you may object to the processing of your data, in which case ICAR will cease to process them, unless for legitimate reasons or for reasons of defence against possible claims, it cannot comply with your request for objection. You can also request the portability of your data.

In order to exercise such rights, I) you may go in person to the ICAR premises to request the forms provided for this purpose at the reception of the Centre.

ICAR has taken all legally required security measures. However, please note that the abovementioned measures on the Internet are not impenetrable; therefore, ICAR cannot be held responsible for the use of the data due to theft, robbery or any use made as a result of the illegality of third parties.

9. Amendment to this Privacy Policy


ICAR reserves the right to amend this Privacy and Data Protection Policy according to regulatory changes that may occur, as well as the guidelines laid down by the Spanish Data Protection Agency. All of which will be duly amended on this website in order to inform all registered users, or those interested in ICAR’s services and activities, of the changes.
